Being encouraged to draw since early childhood, I started my ''career'' as illustrator/artist by copying my favourite characters from my favourite picture books. Then, for a while, my favourite things to draw were mermaids and horses. Then hands in charcoal and faces in chalk pastels, and so, new themes arrived continuously on which I could develop my skills. And so it carries on still...
I have formally been on this road of illustration since September 2012 when I attended the CCIBA Creative Workshop Program in Children’s Book Illustration. It proved highly valuable, so I attended the same course in 2013.
I became a member of the SCBWI in 2012.
Over the last few years I have been doing educational illustration of school handbooks and school readers.
I am intrigued by the world of children’s books, and the impact that a good book with beautiful strong images can have on a child’s development and world view.
